Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce’s Women Entrepreneurs and Professionals Committee in collaboration with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) celebrates the International Women’s Day on March 9, 2018. The Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce’s Women Entrepreneurs and Professionals Committee has been celebrating the International Women’s Day since 2012. This year, in recognition of the new impetus women’s rights have gained globally, the ICCC has organised a panel discussion on Finding and owning your voice. Panel discussion will focus on the new and emerging trends in women empowerment especially in the sphere of entrepreneurial-ism and professionalism.The program includes a panel discussion and a keynote address. The panelists include sterling achievers who have made path-breaking contributions in the personal and professional spheres. 

 Moderator: 
 Angie Seth is the weekend anchor of Global News at 6pm and 11pm in eight markets across the country. She began her broadcasting career as a reporter for OMNI television, graduated from University of Toronto. While with OMNI, Angie worked as lead anchor of South Asian News in 2006. In 2013 Angie took a break from television broadcast to join CBC Radio as a freelance news anchor. In 2014 she joined Global News as a news anchor and reporter. She is strong advocate for women's rights, children's rights and the fight against domestic violence. Angie awarded with Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 for her work as a journalist and contributions in the community.
 
 Keynote Speaker:

Darlene Carreau, the Director General of Business Services at the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), will deliver the keynote address of the evening. Since December 2015, Darlene Carreau has been serving as the Director General of Business Services at the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO). Previously Darlene was the chairperson of the Trademarks Opposition Board and from 2003 to 2008 was a legal counsel with the Department of Justice where she practiced trademark law and her primary responsibility was acting as trademark legal counsel to the Registrar of Trademarks and the Trademarks Opposition Board. Ms. Carreau received her LL.B from the University of Ottawa in 1996 and her B. Soc. Sc.from the University of Ottawa in 1993. She was called to the bar of the Province of Ontario in 1998. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and a registered trademark agent in Canada.

Unstoppable Tracy #1 International Speaker based out of Toronto and has shared the stage with Jane Fonda, John Travolta,Mel Gibson, Mark Whalberg and more! she was born a 4-way amputee. Her mindblowing story always gets standing ovations pushing audiences out of their limitation zones. She is the winner of the 2017 Robert W. Jackson Award[Founder of the Canadian Paralympics], 2017 Ontario Premier Awards, 2017 C-SASIL Lifetime Achievement Award and 2018 Women of Essence Global Award Nominee and as seen on CBC, City TV, Global News, NBC, FOX, on the cover of Thrive Magazine and seen globally around the world! Oprah Magazine shared herstory as Quest for the Gold World Cup Sailor, who climbed Himalayan mountains,captained 110-foot-tall ship, won paraskiing bronze.

 

Patricia Lovett-Reid, Chief Financial Commentator, CTV News. As CTV News’ Chief Financial Commentator, Pattie Lovett-Reid coaches viewers on how to save money, stretch their income, and get the biggest bang for their hard-earned bucks. Lovett-Reid provides weekday financial updates for CTV News Channel, CP24, and regional CTV MORNING LIVE broadcasts across the country. When there is a market moving, economic or finance story worthy of commenting on, Lovett-Reid will offer commentary on CTV NATIONAL NEWS as well. Lovett-Reid is a Certified Financial Planner, co-author of several national best-selling books, and was awarded with an honorary degree in Applied Studies from Humber College in June 2010. The Financial Planners Standards Council (FPSC) recognized Lovett-Reid with the 2009 Donald J. Johnston Award for her outstanding contribution to the profession of financial planning in Canada. Lovett-Reid also received the 2007 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100™ Award in the Trailblazers and Trendsetters Category.

 
 Jennifer Hubbard was recently appointed Managing Director, Financial Planning and Advice for CIBC Wealth Management and Commercial Banking. Throughout her career in the financial services industry, she has enjoyed a range of experiences with many of her roles centered around serving and advising clients. Whether it be through leading CIBC’s largest Region and Client Contact Centres to working directly with high net worth clients, she is committed to empowering customers with the information they need to make informed financial decisions. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto, an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, York University, and is a CFA Charter holder. She is also mother to two fabulous teenagers.
