Good fats vs bad fats

Speaker: Sunita Mohan

Sunita is a Homeopathic doctor and Holistic Nutritionist.  Co-author of family cookbook, “Feed Me...I’m Hungry”.  Sunita for years suffered with migraine headaches and tried Homeopathic medicines, and diet & lifestyle changes to find some relief.  This great healing is what made her decide to study Nutrition and Homeopathy. She also appear on Rogers’s cable 10 hosting Health Matters. She gives cooking classes at various venues including Loblaws and Wholefoods.  She specializes in the healing properties of spices and Ayurvedic cooking.  She is currently working with Metabolic Balance to help her clients lose weight and eat according to their blood results.  She was featured on the Dr. Oz show taking about Ancient Ayurvedic Secrets.

Mindful meditation for stress reduction

Speaker: Reema Sarin

Reema Sarin, Certified Yoga Teacher, an avid practitioner of Yoga since 2004. She has attained formal teachers training from East West Yoga, Toronto, Canada and has just recently completed a 1 year Diploma in Yoga Teachers Training from the prestigious Annamalai University, India.

The Wellness presentation, Introduction to Mindful Meditation for Stress Reduction is for anyone who wants to lead a happier, peaceful and focused life—personally and in the workplace. This workshop will provide participants with the tools and strategies to respond to stressful situations in life. The tools will teach you to use your breath as your anchor to achieve calmness and reduce stress in your life. Practicing continuous mindful meditation will enhance the skills that will enable you to become more conscious, intentional and present.  It will also provide you with clarity of thinking and improve your ability to make powerful choices.

Yoga

Speaker: Niharika Tugnait

Niharika Tugnait, a recent graduate from the University of Toronto, is a certified Yoga coach. Practicing Yoga since the age of 9, over the last 13 years she's developed her skill set to train individuals in corporate settings and athletes. Early this year, she had the opportunity to perform at the event held in honour of India's PM Shri Narendra Modi, and received recognition for her performance, on outlets such as ATN, CP24, and IBN7. Today, Niharika is teaching Corporate Yoga at companies like Accenture, RBC, and SBI, and is furthering her reach in the athletic field.

 

Introduction to Hatha Yoga, and how it can benefit an individual during their day-to-day activities. It helps with concentration, increasing lung capacity, and stamina for a working individual. Hatha Yoga is a slower-paced form of Yoga, and focuses your attention on the synchronization of your breath with the movements of your body during asanas. Cafe Yoga is an adaptation of Hatha Yoga, which you can practice on your desk.
